About Magang Mandiri
Magang Mandiri (Independent Internship) is a key component of the MBKM program that empowers students to proactively seek and secure internship opportunities at companies, institutions, or organizations of their choice. Unlike structured partner programs, this track allows students to align their internship experience directly with their specific career interests and academic goals. Students take the initiative to find a host institution, establish contact, and propose an internship role that is relevant to their studies in the English Studies Program. This process itself is a valuable learning experience, developing students’ networking, communication, and negotiation skills. The program is designed to be flexible, accommodating a wide range of professional fields such as publishing, media, corporate communications, translation, public relations, and more.Program Objectives
The primary goals of the Magang Mandiri program are to:- Provide students with hands-on, real-world work experience in a professional setting that directly relates to their field of study.
- Develop practical, industry-specific skills and competencies (e.g., professional writing, translation, content creation, project management) that are not fully covered in the traditional classroom.
- Enhance students’ soft skills, including critical thinking, complex problem-solving, teamwork, and professional communication.
- Allow students to build a professional network, find mentors, and gain insights into potential career paths after graduation.
- Strengthen work readiness, professional ethics, and personal accountability, preparing students for a successful transition from university to the workplace.
