English Literature UGM Students Triumph with Gripping Drama “Deserved It” at English Days 2025

Students from the English Literature Study Program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FIB UGM), organised the yearly English Days 2025 event. The stage play “Deserved It,” an English-language drama with secrets and conflict within the dynamics of friendship, is part of this year’s activities.

The story of Mickey, a mysterious new student whose arrival significantly alters the friend group is told in the drama “Deserved It.” The audience is drawn into an engrossing, emotional, and unpredictable atmosphere as their secrets are revealed one by one. “Deserved It” offers an engaging and unforgettable theatrical experience with its incisive dialogue, gripping plot, and dynamic performances.

With its incisive, captivating dialogue, a plot that keeps the audience guessing, and powerful performances from the student cast, “Deserved It” offered an unforgettable theatrical experience. The production successfully showcased the immense talent within FIB UGM’s English Literature program, proving that this year’s English Days was not just an event, but a compelling exploration of human nature under pressure. It’s safe to say that the drama truly earned its standing ovation.
